Does ShareLAS show ads?
No. There are no ads in ShareLAS — not in the app, and not in the viewer your clients open. The free plan is funded by Basic and Pro subscribers, not by advertising.
How do I sign up?
Sign up with your Google account in one click, or with your name, email, and a password. No credit card, no company details, no sales call. Email sign-ups confirm their address with one click before the first upload; Google sign-ups can upload right away.
Which point cloud formats does ShareLAS support?
LAS and LAZ (compressed LAS) — the standard formats produced by drone mapping and survey tools such as Pix4D, DJI Terra, Agisoft Metashape, and RealityCapture, as well as terrestrial LiDAR scanners.
Do my clients need to install software to view a point cloud?
No. A ShareLAS link opens a streamable 3D point cloud viewer (built on Potree) directly in any modern browser, on desktop, tablet, or phone. No downloads, no plugins, no login.
What can my clients do in the viewer?
Orbit, pan, and zoom through the point cloud, switch color modes such as RGB, elevation, and classification, and use the built-in measurement tools — points, distances, heights, areas, volumes, angles, and height profiles — plus clipping. Everything runs in the browser, on desktop, tablet, or phone.
How large can my point cloud files be?
The free plan covers surveys up to 200 MB. Paid plans store multi-gigabyte projects with up to 100 GB of storage. Every upload is converted into a streaming octree, so even huge scans open in seconds instead of downloading whole.
What happens after 20 views on the free plan?
Your link keeps working. Once it passes 20 views, viewers see a small banner saying it is shared on the ShareLAS free plan. Upgrading to Basic or Pro removes the banner right away, on that link and every other.
Is ShareLAS good for routine client delivery?
Yes — that is what the paid plans are for. Basic ($12/month) stores 25 GB with unlimited files, 90-day links, and unlimited views. Pro ($39/month) stores 100 GB, expandable in 25 GB blocks, and its links never expire. The free plan is for trying ShareLAS and one-off deliveries.
